This is another place I had been dying to go to, and in fact had many chances, but for some reason or another, never made it. Until, this past Sunday, celebrating our friends' departure for their trip to Greece (::insert jealousy::).
Its is appropriately located in Harbor East, due to its trendy and fun atmosphere. My sister, Irene, and I arrived early, and sat at the bar to enjoy "Reverse" Happy Hour (from 8pm to midnight on Sundays). It was moderately packed. Irene ordered the saki and I had a "Strawberry Soju Sunrise". This was not included in the happy hour, but caught my eye on the menu... While the bartender was making my drink, I had some time to look around.
The walls are a vibrant red, with round red lanterns all over the ceiling. And then their are large pictures and pop-out fixtures all over. Very trendy. Not to mention the modern music they have blasting. Definitely a "group" place. Get vibes and energy! Love it!
Back to my drink! lol... So it had crushed strawberries, some Japanese Soju and some other citrus flavors. It was sweet and refreshing at once. Couldn't even taste the alcohol (thankfully!). I really enjoyed it!
Anyways, our friends arrived and we were seated after a bit (they don't take reservations, but right down the names if there is a big party...didn't do any help. lol). We sat in this very comfortable and spacious booth. Because of the music, it was hard to hear the waiter, and since we were in a booth next to more booths, it wasn't very convenient for him to get our orders to us...but he was very friendly (and cute) nonetheless. haha... Anyways...so their Happy hour is ridiculous! Half price on a select menu which basically includes everything! Actually, I believe I saw somewhere that they were voted best happy hour??? yess? So, my sister and I ordered the "RA"ckin' Shrimp (came with about 12) and Lobster Spring Rolls (about 4). I was surprised that they didn't skimp on the quantity because of the reduced prices! The shrimp was crunchy and flavorful and was accompanied with a sweet dipping sauce! These are Irene's favorite. I must admit that I did enjoy the Lobster Spring Rolls more. They had a creamy cream cheese and lobster bits with another sweet dipping sauce. Yum!
Viva Las Vegas Roll |
For sushi, we ordered the Viva Las Vegas Roll (as did everyone else in the restaurant lol...if you saw you would know why)... It is gi-normous and came with about 6 pieces. My sister also ordered the Crunchy Shrimp roll, but I did not try it.
Addition (a year later): In hinds site, I would definitely go there again... The trendy atmosphere is very appealing. It creates a fun atmosphere for large crowds to laugh, drink and eat :)
