Located right next to the Baltimore Harbor on Pratt Street, this cafe was a pleasant surprise! I was down in the city last Thursday and Friday, and walked around the corner and was feeling adventurous. This place is very unassuming, located on the bottom of a professional building center (right across from one of the Pavilions). I liked the name so I decided to go.
Surprisingly, there weren't that very many people there. Its just like a carry-out but they specialize in their breakfast sandwiches. Since I am currently "fasting" (not eating meat products...religious reasons) I opted for their vegetarian sandwiches. I chose the Healthy Bite.
Before I even ate it, I was impressed. The cashier was a super nice older lady that gladly explained to me what their "chillers" were (iced pomegranate green tea sweetened with cane sugar was that days special!). Obviously, I got it! First, it was WAY better than the lady described! So refreshing and light! Its one of those things that makes you feel healthier as you are consuming it! Loved it!
So anyways, I took my sandwich outside to their outdoor tables. Get this... inside a toasted bagel (yum!) were lettuce, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, and balsalmic vinaigrette marinated fresh avocado slices!!! OMG SOOO GOOD! I love avocado as it is... but this was sooo good! I have craved one everyday since! The avocado was so fresh, buttery and creamy, and the veggies were super crunchy and ripe! And of course, my tea was the perfect pair! The only thing I was a tiny bit upset about was that the lady didn't spread the vinaigrette all over, so the second half of my bagel sandwich was the better half, and represented the "full effect". Lol... I would definitely go again, and try other healthy options! Perfect lunch!

TASTE BUDS
I initially started this blog as an ode to my culture's emphasis on great food and nutrition. However, I was VERY bad with keeping up with it. So now, it will be about my travels, tastes, and anything else that I feel like projecting into the vast online community for anyone that wants to read :) May it be noted though that food is still and will always continue to be a huge part of my life :)
